Root Canal Treatment (Endodontics)

• If there is severe pain in the tooth

• Diagnosis and Planning
  The condition of the tooth is evaluated by detailed examination and radiographs.

• Anesthesia and Cleaning
  Local anesthesia is applied. The infected nerve tissue inside the tooth is removed.

• Channel Shaping
  Root canals are cleaned and shaped with special instruments.

• Channel Filling
  The canals are filled with biocompatible filling material to prevent recurrence of infection.

• Superstructure Restoration
  The rest of the tooth is restored with a filling or crown. To prevent fractures, especially in the back teeth crown veneer may be recommended.

Root canal treatment thanks to modern anesthesia techniques and devices used today painless can be applied in any way. There may be mild tenderness for a few days after treatment, but this is temporary.

A properly performed root canal treatment and a tooth with a suitable restoration can remain in the mouth for many years. However, regular check-ups and good oral hygiene are important after treatment.

• Avoid hard foods in the first 24 hours after treatment
  If there is a temporary filling, permanent restoration should be done in a timely manner
  Pay attention to oral hygiene and brush your teeth regularly
