Adapting to a new denture
In the first days with a new denture, a feeling of fullness, changes in speech or increased saliva are common and usually settle with time. Choosing softer foods at first, cutting food into small pieces and chewing on both sides can make adaptation easier. If you notice pain, an ulcer or a clearly poor fit, contact the clinic rather than waiting for the next appointment.
Denture care
Dentures should be cleaned every day with a denture brush and the cleaning products recommended by your dentist, which helps reduce plaque build-up and odour. Removable dentures should be stored appropriately so that they do not dry out. Your dentist will advise whether the denture should be left out overnight so the gum tissues can rest.
Changes over time
